The Tangletown ROWing Club is a tactical urbanism effort in the sub-neighborhood of Tangletown. We bound Tangletown as 65th Street to 50th Street, Green Lake Way N to 5th Avenue NE, with its heart at the intersection of N 56th Street and Keystone Place N. “ROW” stands for “right-of-way.”

Current efforts

  • Educating the public on how the neighborhood watch signs are rooted in racism and the police state, and replacing these “watch” signs with more welcoming messages.

  • Establishing signage to encourage drivers to slow down.

  • Creating a communication for organizers of Play Street and Neighborhood Night Out parties.

  • Creating painted intersections and community crosswalks in the heart of Tangletown’s business district.

  • Installing “toppers” on the street signs along 1st Ave NE to mark an unofficial (but planned) neighborhood greenway route.
